FAQ

What is a Notary Public anyway?

A Notary is an official commissioned by the government to witness the signing of documents, administer oaths, and several other duties. A notary is usually hired in cases where a document is important, and potential fraud is an issue. Notaries, however, do not provide legal advice.

What should I bring with me when we meet?

All you need to bring with you is a current form of government-issued identification—passport, driver's license, and so on, along with your documents, ready to sign.

What type of ID is Acceptable?

Any one of the following Valid Identifications (providing they are current or issued within the past five (5) years) is acceptable:

  • A Florida identification card or driver’s license

  • A U.S. passport

  • A foreign passport if it is stamped by the United States Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Service

  • Another state driver’s license or identification card issued by a U.S. state or a territory of the United States

  • A Canadian or Mexican driver’s license or an identification card

  • An identification card issued by any branch of the armed forces of the United States

  • A veteran health identification card issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs

  • An identification card issued by the United States Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services

What is a Loan Signing Agent?

A Loan Signing Agent is a notary specifically experienced and trained to handle loan documentation. I am a Loan Signing Agent with a great deal of experience in the field. I will come to your home, office or other location to execute your loan signing documents.

Why would I need a Loan Signing Agent?

Loan documents are complicated documents, and they are often rejected if they are not signed correctly. There is little-to-no room for error when filling out and submitting loan documents. If a set of documents is rejected because of an incorrect signature or missing initials, then your loan may take additional time for approval. In the time it takes to print up a new set of documents and sign them, the interest on your loan is accruing. This is both a waste of time and money.

Are you background screened? Are you bonded?

YES. AND YES. All notaries in FL are required to submit to a background screening administered by the Department of Justice and the FBI. A bond is also required.
